MuseumNext 2018: home turf, home truths and hard graft

Over three days and one jam-packed track in London, the all-round impression was of a job well done by #MuseumNext. But the real hard work is only getting started.

They come around thick and fast these days — NYC + Tech + Australia all within the next 12 months — but MuseumNext Europe is the mother conference and one I’ve no intention of missing.

After a manic, paper-folding, closing plenary on Wednesday, thoughts inevitably turn to inclusivity, given extra weight by the conference’s colonial backdrop of the Royal Geographical Society and the particularly awful moment when a delegate was mistaken for toilet cleaning staff.

Alongside the frustration, there was passion and inspiration in spades, which Ben has summarised over on Medium.
